The most important factor in Shipmanagement is employing quality crew. MK SHIPMANAGEMENT recruits crew through a close-knit partnership with its affiliated company KEYMAX MARITIME.
Crewing The 1,000 seafarers onboard the more than 50 vessels managed by MK SHIPMANAGEMENT are provided by a worldwide network of crewing agencies contracted to KEYMAX MARITIME.
Pre-boarding Briefings Key shipboard personnel are assembled at MK SHIPMANAGEMENT for pre-boarding briefings before joining their assigned vessels.
Education and Training KEYMAX MARITIME conducts education and training of crew in cooperation with or as partners with the following overseas crewing agencies:
Manila
-
Magsaysay Institute of Shipping Basic and upgrading training.
-
Magsaysay Training Center Seminars and hands-on training in special areas, such as fire-fighting and other skills required by STCW; familiarity with MK SHIPMANAGEMENT's computer system.
-

Selection and Evaluation
Selection
-
Crew is selected through the inspection of bio-data of candidates recommended by crewing agencies; factors taken into account include qualifications, ability, experience, past performance and health.
Evaluation
-
Superintendents evaluate crew when visiting the vessels and report to ship owners and MK SHIPMANAGEMENT through Vessel Attendance Reports. Such evaluations are archived in a database (KCIS, or KEYMAX CREW INFORMATION SERVICE) that provides reference material when crew is considered for rehiring.
